2005 College football Preview

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW~
Below is our College football Preview 2005. This Preview was written and published here in AUGUST.
The daysbestet.com College Football Preview is going to give you the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the football programs that will rise up and surprise everyone this fall. It gives this sports handicapper the opportunity to show off my skills as the"Nostrademus of Sports". You will be advised to take notes on the football programs that you are about to read about here, their stock is going up! In recent years, our client based cashed in on the California Golden Bears more than anyone could possibly imagine. In Baton Rouge, we BELIEVED in Nick Saban, and laughed all the way to the bank!
This season, I am really putting myself out on the limb on some of this years "dark horses", but there again, to quote the words of Derek Jeter, " I LIVE FOR THIS !"
ACC
With the ACC expanding to 12 schools, there are two divisions.
COASTAL DIVISION~ Miami, Viginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, and Duke.
Virginia Tech~This is last year's ACC Champs. They will be better this year. Marcus Vick will most likely keep his head on straight and lead the offense. Start season @ Nc State and then find the rest of their road schedule to be "soft". BEAMER BALL LIVES AGAIN as VT wins this division.
ATLANTIC DIVISION~ Wake, Maryland, Boston College, Nc State, Florida State, and Clemson.
Boston College! Thats right, BC. Experienced with 14 starters returning. Quinton Porter will have a big year passing behind an excellent offensive line. They have a balanced attach running and throwing, their defense is solid and physical.
Boston College is ranked 21 in the polls, look for them to be a strong DARK HORSE!
BIG TEN~
You find four Big Ten schools in the top 25. But at this point in time I would like to introduce the most improved football program in the land.
HERE COME THE NITTANY LIONS OF PENN STATE ! The "feel good" story of the year in College football. Joe Pa's return to glory in 2005.
PENN STATE
Last year Joe Paterno's had an excellent defensive squad. The offense, well, thats another story. This year, the defense returns nine starters, so look for this unit to be one of the elite defenses in the country. Last year the offense, with a lot of three and out possessions, kept the defense on the field alot, still nobody put no more than 21 points on the board vs. Penn State. Michael ROBINSON is going to have a breakout year at quarterback. The offense will actually drive down the field during games this year and score points! Paterno's defense with rest is bad news for the rest of the Big Ten.
BIG 12~
North Division
Gary Barnett's COLORADO Buffalo's will get off to a slow start. Besides playing early at Miami, Colorado is usually good for a no show game against a weaker squad in which they will turn over the ball too much. The defense is a very strong unit with 10 starters back. The O Line should open up enough holes for the ground attack, and give QB Joel Klatt enough time to throw the ball. Barnett special teams will the best in the land. Once they get going you will find Colorado to be one of those teams that will close out the season strong.
SOUTH DIVISION
Hook'em Horns !
Football, is a game won at the line of scrimmage. If this is true then the road to the BCS Championship go's thru Austin, Texas.
Mack Brown, a Coach who has a reputation of not winning the games against the big boys, well, guess what? Mack Brown won the Rose Bowl, end of story. Texas, with one of he countries strongest defenses, returns nine starters this year from that unit. Quarterback Vince Young put his own personal stamp on the game in Pasadena, emerging as a "big game" player. The O Line is back. Last year this unit lead the way for a ground attack that average a remarkable school record, 299 yards per game!
We know where the stumbling block shows its ugly head on UT's schedule, October 8th vs Oklahoma. Ten players from last year's Sooner team were drafted by the NFL! First you knock at the door, then you cave it in ! That was Bum Phillips motto. This year, this handicapper expects the TEXAS LONGHORNS to cave in that door, beat Oklahoma enroute to WINNING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
SEC
EAST~
It will be a dog fight in this division. Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. Again, if you look at line of scrimmage for answers, you have to point to Knoxville, TENNESSEE. Vols have one of the strongest O Lines in the country. Give the ball tom Gerald Riggs Jr. and lookout! "If you can run , you can win ...." Tennessee was 7-1 in conference last season and return 17 starters! Not so POOR, ROCKY TOP!
WEST~
ROLL TIDE !
Auburn only return's six starters on offense and six on defense. Four players choosen in first round of draft! Bye-Bye Auburn. Cream shall rise to the top , and its foam has a crimson shade to it. Alabama returns nine starters on defense. Brodie Croyle just might have a better year than any other QB in a conference that features some fine passers. Bama attack will be well balanced with the passing skills of Croyle, and the strong running of Kenneth Darby. The schedule is bama friendly and this experienced squad intends to take full advantage as another historic football progrm returns to the spotlight.
PAC TEN
Regular clients of Jim Sneeringer Sports have cashed in on the CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS big time in the past three seasons. This year as Jeff Tedford reaches from a talent filled crew of JUCO tranfers, to reload for another run at over-throwing Pete Carroll's USC Trogans, Cal will host the Trogans at home. I know that USC returns a very potent offense lead by QB Matt Leinart, but their defense leaves me with a big question mark. Marshawn Lynch will help power the Cal Bears to the PAC TEN TITTLE.
BIG EAST
Louisville was one of this countries strongest football squads last year. If you think they were one year flash in the pan, guess again! They now enter a Big East Conference that is a shadow of is once self with powers Virginia Tech and Miami, not to forget Boston College, moving on to play in th ACC. Louisville is still loaded. They possibly have the best QB(Brohm), Tailback(Bush), and definitely the strongest O Line in the Conference. There road schedule includes trips to Kentucky, South Florida, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and UConn, thus, this handicapper projects the Louisville Cardinals to go thru the Big East UNDEFEATED!
WAC
Fresno State~ We have been very $ucce$$ful in the past evaluating the WAC Conference, and getting in on the ground floor of the hot teams in recent years. This year will be no different. The WAC will be very good for our clients. Boise State and Fresno State, are the teams to beat. This is Fresno's year. They are loaded, especially on offense with Paul Pinegar leading the way at Quarterback. Boise will have to travel to BULLDOG Stadium this year to play Fresno, good luck!
NEVADA WOLF PACK ~ Thats right! AIR WOLF! You heard it here. This is our WAC Conference Darkhorse, and they will play a key role in determining who will win this conference. Nevada will be one of the most exciting schools to watch in 2005, watch em light up the scoreboard! b If they can figure out how to take this explosiveness on the road, all hell will break loose!
